Card Layout Challenge #205

Last challenge of 2012!  I hope you have time to create a little this week.

A while back our list mom, Annette Warkentin, sent a design she had seen and liked.   This week’s design challenge is to create a card with a matching envelope.  Notice that the two images from the card on the envelope itself. Let’s see what you can do!

2012 in Review

I thought you would enjoy this information that I get once a year.  Happy New Year!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 16,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 4 Film Festivals

For this challenge, you have until the morning of December 31st!  This week’s challenge was prompted by Wendy McGowen’s card for Challenge #200.  Wayyy back, we did one similar (Challenge #5), but not quite the same.  I loved the card, so that was that!

It was a short week, but some members found time to create!

Card Layout Challenge #203

Please note:  This week’s challenge is over on Friday night at 8PM Central time.  A new challenge will be uploaded at that time.

For Challenge #203, you will be making cards with a text background.  You can use any text it does not have to be Asian, but the overall feel of the card must be an obvious Asian card.  Annette posted an image with text that you can print out.  You can also tear out a page from an old dictionary that might have definitions of Asian words, old Chinese newspapers, etc.

I do not have an Asian card to show you, but I do have a project I made two years ago where the text is visible in the background.  ImageText

Here is a Christmas card I made with a text background.

Card Layout Challenge #202

This week, Annette sent an image of a gift package.  I thought it was cute.  You DO NOT have to create this with the holidays in mind.  It can be any celebration where a gift is given.  HOWEVER, please make sure that it is oriental in nature.  If it is not an obvious oriental theme image, please email me telling me what makes your artwork oriental.

Fabulous cards this week!

Card Layout Challenge #201

This week we prepare for the holidays.  Many members send oriental themed cards to friends during this time period.  Your challenge this week is to create a holiday inspired oriental card.  The card does not have to say Merry Christmas on it. The focus is on what this time of year means to you, your wishes to others, etc.

I am not looking for Chinese New Year’s cards at this time (that will be later).  However, you can create a card about the regular new year celebration of Jan. 1st.

Upload your artwork to your personal photo album. This can be an OSA Yahoo! Photo album, Flickr, PictureTrail, etc. Then post a link to your artwork HERE in the comments section when you have completed our challenge. Or, you can also post a link to your artwork on OSA. Come back on Sunday to see who has taken the challenge this week!
