Card Layout Challenge #242

In May, I saw a tag made by Lindsay Weinrich, the Frugal Crafter.  She four layered four rhombus shapes (diamonds) next to each other.  I thought that would be a perfect design challenge for us!  Your design MUST have the four diamond shapes next to each other as shown.  The artwork DOES NOT have to be a tag. Any image(s), stamped or otherwise, may be used.

Card Layout Challenge #241

I found this card through Pinterest a while ago.  The card is made by Stephanie Nishikawa and can be found on her blog.  I believe the card was made for one of her store’s (Paper Garden Boutique) card classes.  I have linked directly to it from her blog.

This is really a simple card, but looks difficult.  The beige layer is one piece.  The black is made up of two thin pieces of black cs.  If you use two different sizes circular paper punches, you will get the round design in the middle.  Let’s see what you can do!

We haven’t done a color challenge in quite a while!  The color combination that I want for you to try this week is different shades of brown…I prefer for this challenge the lighter spectrum of brown.  Here is a Yuzen paper being sold by Stone House Stamps that has the shades I am looking for in your cards.

Card Layout Challenge #239

Have you looked through Pinterest?  It’s an amazing way to create your personal boards and pin images of pictures and ideas you like.  Recently, I found the following card that was perfect for its simplicity and elegance.  It is a card that was done for a class a few years ago at the Craft Fancy store in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The image is linked directly to their Flickr page.  Let’s see what you can do!  I think scraps would work well for this challenge.

Card Layout Challenge #238

This week’s challenge is related to last month’s Monthly Technique Challenge on the Oriental Stamp Art blog. The card was made by Lyn Smith, an OSA member from Australia who passed away a year ago.  Your challenge is to use something like an acrylic block or other object that when stamped, will create a highlighted background shape, upon which you stamp an image. You may add a text as show, but remember, the card must have an oriental theme.
