Card Layout Challenge #261

Veronique L. suggested a layout that was made by an OSA member for an upcoming swap and uploaded into an album.  I will not show that card because the swap hasn’t yet been posted, but I looked online for cards similar to the one Veronique liked.

This week’s layout is a design made using a technique called the Starburst or Sunburst Technique.  I know last year there was a similar technique featured on Techniques Junkies.  This is a variation of that technique.  You can make the card in Landscape OR Portrait orientation.  The card must have the sunburst on half the card only as in the tutorial below. You may also put in the middle any kind of embellishment.

Follow these links to see samples of this technique.  You will also see some tutorials.  Make sure it’s oriental!

****Remember, your card design must be oriental in nature. There must be at least one stamped item on your card.

I invite you to create a card using this week’s challenge. Upload it to your personal photo album.  This can be an OSA gallery album, an OSA Yahoo! Photo album, Flickr, PictureTrail, etc.  Then post a link to your artwork HERE in the comments section when you have completed our challenge.  Or, you can also post a link to your artwork on OSA. Many members took advantage of this past week’s challenge.  Beautiful artwork!

Card Layout Challenge #260

On Elizabeth Craft Designs Facebook page, I found a card I thought would make a great layout challenge.  I didn’t find the artist’s name, but if you go to their Facebook page, you will see it.  I couldn’t find the card on their blog, either.

Here is the template I made using the design of the card.  The shading is only as a guide in terms of which pieces of papers should be the same.  Let’s see what you can do.

Wow!  This was not an easy challenge, but take a look at all the lovely cards!

Card Layout Challenge #259

This week’s challenge was requested by Veronique L. This is what she wrote: “I received this card from Kim McKinney. It could make a good layout. The circles with the 8 points stars are raised once, the small circle with the 3 waves is raised twice.”

Here is Kim’s card.  The card’s orientation is landscape, not portrait.   Let’s see what you can do.

Card Layout Challenge #258

Every year, we have a Valentine’s Day theme challenge.  Well, it’s that time of year again!  Here is a card made by Emilie Boyd for the Technique Challenge of the Month.  Emilie happened to make it into a Valentine’s Day card, which was perfect for our weekly theme!  Let’s see what you can do.  It does NOT have to look like hers. I am looking for Valentine’s Day related images…couples, hearts, etc., with an oriental twist!
