Card Layout Challenge #266

This week’s card layout is a circle card.  I saw this card on Pinterest and I fell in love with it.  By clicking on the card, it will take you to Eileen’s Crafty Zone.  I found out that she used a template called a Crealies template.  Eileen has various circle cards on her blog, but here are two of them:

If you scroll down the page, Eileen has included the dimensions of the cards and layers.

Your task is to match as close as possible the circle card and its popped-up cut layers.  Of course, it needs to be Asian.  I can see lots of great possibilities!

****Remember, your card design must be oriental in nature. There must be at least one stamped item on your card.

I invite you to create a card using this week’s challenge. Upload it to your personal photo album. This can be an OSA gallery album, an OSA Yahoo! Photo album, Flickr, PictureTrail, etc. Then post a link to your artwork HERE in the comments section when you have completed our challenge. Or, you can also post a link to your artwork on OSA. Come back on Sunday to see who has taken the challenge this week!

Card Layout Challenge #265

This week’s challenge was suggested by Shaz in Oz. Shaz received a birthday card from her friend, Joyce, who lives in N. Ireland.  See below for the card and suggestions on how to make it. The pieces are a punched circles which were then folded into squares. The washi paper is outside for some and inside for others.  Notice there are also some embellishments inside some.  You do not need to have the exact number of squares.  You may have more or less.  I think more would look better, but who knows?

Suggestions to create the card:
•Use thin wrapping paper or washi paper for the design part of the card. Washi might work better.
•Try not pasting the design paper onto the cardstock.
•Instead you can use a circle punch 1 1/2 ” for the circles. Then you could punch out a 1″ square, setting the square into the circle.
Use the bone folder to fold the sides.
Take out the square and burnish more.
Decide if your card needs a layer underneath.
This might be a good challenge to use up your scraps.

****Remember, your card design must be oriental in nature. There must be at least one stamped item on your card.

Carolyn S. recommended we do a recessed window card.   She even sent along a tutorial she had found! Below are some links to help you make these recessed window cards.  Make sure your card is Asian in nature.

I first saw this card on Pinterest.  However, it was originally posted on Splitcoast Stampers by someone named Lisa.  It’s an easy layered card.  Remember, your card needs to look oriental and have at least ONE stamped image.  It can be any color.  Please keep the landscape orientation and the basic design.  Here is a direct link to the card.

This week’s challenge is one I found at http://www.crafterscompanion.com.  It is a trifold tag card.  I thought it would be cool to have this as a layout challenge.  Although I did not find any directions, it looks like it’s an easy trifold card, cut in the shape of tags.  Let’s see what you can do!

Take a look at the link to the image I have here:
