Card Layout Challenge #279

This week’s card is one I pinned on Pinterest.  The card was created by Karolyn Loncon.  Her blog is called Paper Therapy.  Your task is to make an Asian version of the card she created here.  You do not need to have the same colors, but you do need to have the same design layout as the original card shown.

Let’s see what you can do!  I will be updating our blog with the previous two weeks of challenge participants when I get home later this week.

****Remember, your card design must be oriental in nature. There must be at least one stamped item on your card.

I invite you to create a card using this week’s challenge. Upload it to your personal photo album. This can be an OSA gallery album, an OSA Yahoo! Photo album, Flickr, PictureTrail, etc. Then post a link to your artwork HERE in the comments section when you have completed our challenge. Or, you can also post a link to your artwork on OSA. Come back on Sunday to see who has taken the challenge this week!

Do you want your design featured? Just email me (Sonia E.) your original design and you will be featured in an upcoming challenge this year!

Card Layout Challenge #278

July is less than two weeks away.  There are a number of holidays and festivals being celebrated in various Asian countries during that month.  One of them is Japan’s Sea Day, also known as Marine Day or Ocean Day.  Your task is to make any card with the theme of the sea, ocean, or marine life.  I thought this was so appropriate for this week, since I am vacationing on the island of Puerto Rico where going to the beach is the #1 thing to do!

Carolyn S. suggested this week’s challenge.  She found an inspiration for a new design challenge by visiting an art print online store.  The design Carolyn suggested can be found here.  She says that “Rather than a square, it could be rectangle.  It is hard to see in the photo but it has a red line down the center.”

Father’s Day in the United States is this coming Sunday.  Let’s see if you can make a masculine card with an Asian flair.  Amazon.com has a card for sale that fits that description.  Go here to view it.

This week’s challenge was found on Pinterest. I was able to trace the card back to Pam MacKay on Splitcoaststamper, but whose blog is Stamper at Heart.  The card is called Joy of Spring. A close-up of her card can be found here.
