Card Layout Challenge #315

This week’s challenge is from Jannhild’s papirhobby blog.  The card layout can be found here.  As you can tell,  there are various layers and some 3-D embellishments. You do not need to add the extra embellishments, but you do need to have all the layers plus the main image in the middle.  The card must be a square:  4″x 4″, 3″x 3″, etc. You do not need to decorate the inside.

Let’s see what you can do!

****Remember, your card design must be oriental in nature. There must be at least one stamped item on your card.

I invite you to create a card using this week’s challenge. Upload it to your personal photo album.  This can be an OSA gallery album, an OSA Yahoo! Photo album, Flickr, PictureTrail, etc.  Then post a link to your artwork HERE in the comments section when you have completed our challenge.  Or, you can also post a link to your artwork on OSA. Come back on Sunday to see who has taken the challenge this week!

Do you want your design featured?  Just email me (Sonia E.) your original design and you will be featured in an upcoming challenge this year!

I subscribe to Leeann Greff’s blog called Flowerbug’s Inkspot.  Last week she featured a card by one of her team designers called a folded corner card.  Here is a YouTube video that shows you how to make a folded corner card:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPF8NOPhy1k

Are you ready for something simple?  Well, go here to see a very simple card.  The card was made by Becky and is shown on her blog, Scrappin’ and Stampin’ in GJ.  I featured one of her cards a few challenges ago.  The interesting part is that I found this week’s card on Pinterest, not by going to her blog!  I was certainly surprised to see where the link had taken me!

Card Layout Challenge #312

This week’s layout is based on a card that Monica Hofman made for OSA-ACE 16.  The card is a flower/petal-like shape sitting on a handmade display easel.  Take a look at her card here:

Monica did show me three different templates she had to make the cards plus the pattern to make the easel.  Unfortunately, I am unable to post images of these templates on this blog because they are copyrighted.  If I find them online and they are posted for sharing, I’ll update this blog and include a link.

In the meantime, I did find a pattern for the easel on a different site called Make and Takes.  Scroll down to see a tutorial.  It’s very similar to the actual one.  For the card, make one that is circular or oval with a pattern around the outside.  The pattern could be petals or the design above.  Perhaps you have a die-cut that will allow you to make cards in this shape.

This week’s challenge continues with the inspiration from OSA members.  The card was made by Nan Schussler-Nooy, a former member.  I found her card while looking through OSA-Archives.

The focal point is the triangle in the middle with an image inside.  Your card must have at least those two elements.  Anything else is up to you.
