Card Layout Challenge #291

This week’s card layout is a double zig zag fold card.  You can see an example of what I want you do to here. You can also see how it is made by watching a video here.  Your card MUST be a double zig zag card (not single), but how you design it is up to you. Please give it a try.  It looks complicated, but it isn’t really, although it can be somewhat time consuming.  You’ve had a number of easy weeks, so challenge yourself!

I am including a number of links to help you create this type of card.

****Remember, your card design must be ORIENTAL in nature. There must be at least ONE stamped item on the FRONT of your card.

I invite you to create a card using this week’s challenge. Upload it to your personal photo album. This can be an OSA gallery album, an OSA Yahoo! Photo album, Flickr, PictureTrail, etc. Then post a link to your artwork HERE in the comments section when you have completed our challenge. Or, you can also post a link to your artwork on OSA. Come back on Sunday to see who has taken the challenge this week!

Card Layout Challenge #209

This week’s card is inspired by Bonnie Sz., a stamping friend of Maggi’s and mine.  I have featured her card layouts before.  The layout is called the upright “z” card.  It looks like an upside down easel card.  Do follow the links below (or click on Bonnie’s name to see her take on it) to give you an idea of what you will be making.  This is the basic format I would like to see, with the button/holder at the top:

Card Layout Challenge #190

We have our List Mom, Annette Warkentin, to thank for this week’s layout.  It’s a votive card.  The card you make goes around a battery operated votive candle.  The directions are on the card layout.  Perhaps a good holiday decoration????

I LOVE all these cards…such creativity!

Card Layout Challenge #181

This week I decided to do an interactive card challenge.  I did a search on Google and saw a layout I had done once in one of my SU! stamp camps a number of years ago.  The type of card is known by a number of names but the two common ones are pull-up/pop-up card or surprise pop-up card.

Upon further search on Google images, I found that one of our members, Patti Lee had an Asian Christmas card with this type of layout.  Patti’s blog is called here.

Here are various links to tutorials on how to make this card.  It isn’t too complicated.  Tape, scoring, paper cutter, paper, stamp, ink…I think that’s all you need….Oh, and time to do it!

Card Layout Challenge #175

I was so inspired by the twisted easel card Gitana made last week, that I thought it would be a great challenge this week. If you remember, we did have an easel card challenge waaayyy back in 2009 which was Challenge #42…can’t believe we’ve been at it for three years and a half!!  So….I’d thought we’d do the same challenge, but with a twist (PUN intended!!!). Here is Gitana’s twisted easel card:

Card Layout Challenge #161

This week’s challenge is a little more time consuming.  Alexis Smith sent this beautiful artwork snail mail from England! Alexis states that she bought a template for this card and thought that it would be a good design to do for a layout.  I said, “YES!”    Let’s see what you can do with it.

Here is the front:
